Accessibility statement

We're committed to making Altapatch usable by everyone, regardless of ability or assistive technology.

Last updated: April 2026

Target standard

Altapatch aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA is the conformance level commonly referenced by US ADA case law and most international accessibility regulations.

Current status: Partially conformant. The site is new and we are actively working to bring all areas into full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Some content may not yet meet the standard.

What we do

  • Use semantic HTML so screen readers can interpret page structure
  • Maintain visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
  • Test color contrast against WCAG AA thresholds for text and interactive elements
  • Provide alt text for product imagery and meaningful icons
  • Pair form fields with explicit labels and error messages
  • Avoid auto-playing media and respect reduced-motion preferences

Known limitations

The interactive design studio (/studio) uses a canvas surface for previewing custom hat designs in real time. Canvas-based interfaces are inherently challenging for screen readers. If you would like to design a hat and find the studio inaccessible, please contact us using the details below - we will work with you directly to capture your design and place an order on your behalf.

The site has not yet undergone an independent third-party accessibility audit. We assess accessibility internally using automated tools (axe, Lighthouse) combined with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing.

Reporting accessibility barriers

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Altapatch - content you cannot perceive, a control you cannot operate, or an alternative format you need - please tell us so we can fix it.

Please include the page URL, a description of the issue, and the assistive technology, browser, or operating system you are using. The more detail you can share, the faster we can reproduce and fix the problem.

Statement updates

This statement reflects the current state of accessibility on Altapatch. We review and update it as the site evolves and as issues are remediated. The “last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
